Valley motorists should be aware of the following freeway closures around town.
The Arizona Department of Transportation recommends drivers allow extra travel time or consider alternate routes while the following weekend restrictions are in place:
Westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) narrowed to one lane between Brown and McKellips roads in east Mesa from 2 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 24) for widening project. DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time and be prepared to slow down and merge safely in work zone.
Alma School Road closed in both directions at Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) in Mesa from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Jan. 26) for bridge work. Loop 202 ramps at Alma School Road open with only right turns allowed. DETOUR: Alternate routes include Dobson and McKellips roads.
Westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) narrowed to two lanes between Power and Greenfield roads in Mesa from 3 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 24) for widening project. Eastbound Loop 202 also narrowed to two lanes near Greenfield Road from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 24). DETOUR: Please use caution in work zones.
Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) narrowed to two lanes in both directions near Greenfield Road in Mesa from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 25) for widening project. DETOUR: Please use caution in work zones.
