Giant 'Big Taste Grill' cooks up brats, burgers for game day

PHOENIX -- Brats and burgers are sure to be a staple at parties on Super Bowl Sunday. And the folks at Johnsonville Sausage are taking their grilling seriously!

Check out the Johnsonville Big Taste grill. The semi-truck-sized grill weighs in at 53,000 pounds and measures 65 feet long. It has the ability to prepare 750 brats at a time, or around 2,500 brats an hour.

The Big Taste Grill travels throughout the country, grilling brats and helping raise money for local organizations. Since the tour launched in 1995 as part of Johnsonville Sausage's 50th anniversary celebration, the Big Taste Grill has helped raise more than $3.5 million for charitable groups and organizations nationwide.

"We're in town for the big game," says "Grill-master" Ryan Allison. "We're going to help raise money for the Glendale firefighters."

Allison and his crew cooked up some tasty tailgating recipes, like the Johnsonville Brat Hot Tub, in anticipation of the big game next week.

Ingredients:
-1 large aluminum foil baking pan
-2 to 3 cans (12 oz.) of your favorite beer
-2 tablespoons butter
-1 medium yellow onion, sliced
