PHOENIX -- A man accused of trying to throw his son out a window has been sentenced to one year in prison.Brenden Michael Fairbanks, 33, pleaded guilty to one count of attempted aggravated assault in December. Fairbanks was arrested after allegedly threatening his then 8-year-old son at an apartment complex near 43rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road on Dec. 3, 2013. Court documents state Fairbanks was wearing camouflage shorts and holding his son in his arms while pointing a 12- to 14-inch plastic pen at him. Glendale police said Fairbanks refused orders to put the boy down and lunged toward a bedroom window. He broke the glass with his son's feet as he tried to throw him out the window.Police said it was an approximate 3-foot drop to the ground.
