High clouds moving into Arizona signal a change in our overall weather pattern.
A storm system will move through mainly northern and eastern Arizona, bringing some scattered rain and snow showers Wednesday and Thursday. In metro Phoenix, we don’t expect any rain, but we’ll get cooler temperatures and breezes.
Most of the moisture from that storm will be shunted to the east of Arizona. However, we still foresee some areas of the state in the mountains that could see two to six inches of snow.
In the Valley, highs will drop into the low-70s on Wednesday and the mid-60s on Thursday. After that, a ridge of high pressure will build very quickly back into Arizona, warming us up. By the end of the coming weekend, look for high temperatures near 80. And it will stay pretty warm into the middle of next week.
