PHOENIX -- A man who drove his motorized scooter up the Echo Canyon Trail on Camelback Mountain had to be rescued when he lost control of the scooter and tumbled.

Crews from the Phoenix Fire Department along with technical rescue teams were called to the mountain at about 2:30 p.m. on Monday, according to Captain Benjamin Santillan with the Phoenix Fire Department.

The man who was on the scooter is in his 60's. He was rescued off the mountain with a big-wheel operation. He suffered minor injuries and refused transportation to the hospital.

At the same time, firefighters rescued a woman in her 40's who was feeling dizzy and lightheaded.
