Gang task force targets two Glendale locations

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Arizona Department of Public Safety Gang & Immigration Enforcement team served warrants this morning at two different locations.

The warrants are part of a two month long investigation and are related to gang activity and the sale of weapons and narcotics.

Officers said they have located drugs and weapons and have placed several people in custody.

The scenes are at 63rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road and 61st Avenue and Bethany Home Road.

"These neighborhoods around 62nd Avenue have some gang issues," said Raul Garcia with the Arizona Department of Public Safety. "So in cooperation with the Glendale Police Department, DPS State Gang Task Force came to serve these search warrants today."

One of the suspects arrested is a known gang member.

The two principal suspects arrested were Perrie Jose Cataldo, 33 and Alexander Bracamonte, 19.

The additional suspects arrested were Larry Darnel Bryant, 28, and Christopher Harris, 27.

Cataldo is a former American Idol contestant who made it to "Hollywood Week" in 2008.

"With the evidence obtained today and these interviews we have more pieces of the puzzle put together in this investigation. Whether it leads on to another investigation or is part of a larger one, that's to be seen," Garcia said.

GIITEM is a statewide multi-agency task force consisting of five districts that provide gang and illegal immigration enforcement and intelligence services.
