PHOENIX (AP) -- Gasoline prices around Arizona keep going down at the pumps.

Officials with Triple-A Arizona said Thursday that the average statewide price for unleaded regular gasoline is $1.98 a gallon. That's 10 cents lower than last week and marks the first time since May 2009 that Arizona's average gasoline price has been under $2 per gallon.

This week's national average is $2.08 per gallon, down by nearly a dime from last week.

Triple-A analysts say Peoria has Arizona's lowest average gasoline price at $1.85 a gallon and Flagstaff the highest at $2.40.

Missouri has the lowest average gas prices among states in the continental U.S. at $1.72 a gallon with New York the highest at $2.57 a gallon.
