PHOENIX – Police are asking for the public's help in identifying possible additional suspects in a homicide.

Jesus Cortez, 38, was found dead in his home near Camelback Road and 67th Avenue on Dec. 17. Police said he had obvious signs of trauma.

Police believe the suspects stole Cortez's Ford F150, Cadillac Escalade and a white box trailer. The two vehicles were recovered, but the box trailer is still missing.

Detectives arrested Juan Luis Zermeno, 39, as the primary suspect but believe others may have been involved in the crime.

Police said Zermeno was involved in a dispute with Cortez over business matters. He was arrested Dec. 19 after allegedly trying to sell Cortez's two vehicles to another associate.

Zermeno faces charges including first-degree murder, first-degree burglary and trafficking stolen property.

Anyone with information concerning this investigation is asked to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS. Callers may remain anonymous.
