TUCSON, Ariz. -- U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested an 18-year-old Mexican woman who allegedly tried to smuggle 171 pounds of marijuana across the border Thursday.

Officers assigned to the Port of Douglas reportedly found marijuana concealed in the tires of a Ford SUV driven by Irene Guadalupe Rodriguez-Cortes, of Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico.

CBP said the marijuana is worth about $85,000. Officers seized the drugs and the vehicle.

Rodriguez-Cortes was referred to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
