PHOENIX -- A series of fairly weak storm systems will be crossing Arizona beginning Saturday, bringing us a slight chance for showers this weekend.
In the meantime, the clouds we’ve seen around the Valley on Thursday are producing light showers in the Tucson area. We’re not expecting any rain around metro Phoenix overnight.
The afternoon temperature in Phoenix reached 71 Thursday, 10 degrees below the record high on Wednesday. And it looks like temperatures will continue to moderate through the weekend.
Also, we’ve got slight chances for rain Saturday evening, Sunday and Monday around metro Phoenix. But if we get any rain, it’s going to be pretty light. There’s just not a lot of moisture to work with and, as mentioned, the storms are fairly weak.
Highs through the weekend into early next week will be running in the upper 60s. That’s still above average for this time of year.
