PHOENIX -- Mild weather continues as a ridge of high pressure over the western U.S. brings Arizona some dry and warm conditions. We expect one more day of really warm temps, mid-70s in the deserts, before temperatures start to moderate toward the end of the week. However, even with a bit of a cool-down, temps will be at or above average for this time of year.

As an area of low pressure located south of Arizona begins to drift our way, we will see an increase in clouds by Thursday. Those clouds, sub-tropical in nature, will mainly be high and mid-level clouds, and are not expect to produce any rain around the Valley. It is possible we’ll see some isolated, light showers in southern Arizona on Thursday.

After that, a trough of low pressure from the Pacific will sweep through the west and change our upper-level flow to more zonal. That west-to-east look of the jet stream will also bring us seasonal and dry weather through the weekend.
