PHOENIX -- A motorcycle driver was critically injured in a collision with another vehicle on Tuesday morning, according to Sgt. Jonathan Howard with the Phoenix Police Department.
It happened on 56th Street in North Phoenix just south of Bell Road.
It appears a motorcycle was northbound on 56th Street when a small four-door passenger car driven by a 27-year-old man failed to yield from the stop sign at Aire Libre Avenue, according to Sgt. Trent Crump with the Phoenix Police Department.
The 24-year-old man riding the motorcycle was taken to a hospital and is in critical condition. Police said he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Impairment is not suspected at this point.
56th Street between Bell Rd and Paradise Ln will be closed for several hours due to serious collision. Seek alternate route/avoid the area.
