PHOENIX -- Expect warm weather the next couple of days as a ridge of high pressure persists to the west of Arizona. That’s bringing us a dry, mild fetch of air from the northwest that will continue to warm through mid-week. By then, highs around the Valley will be in the mid-70s.
A weak low pressure system located near Baja will slowly move our way later this week. As the low opens up to the south of Arizona, we’ll see an increase in cloudiness, especially in southern Arizona, but not much in the way of precipitation is expected. Once that system passes to the east, a rather zonal flow of the jet stream (west-to-east) will bring us rather seasonal temperatures through the weekend with highs in the upper-60s to near 70.
Longer range trends also suggest that dry weather will continue for much of Arizona for the next 10 to 14 days.
