GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The 44th annual Fiesta Bowl was played at University of Phoenix Stadium, and unseasonably cold weather had fans glad to be inside for this one.

The Boise State Broncos led the Arizona Wildcats the entire game and hoisted the Fiesta Bowl trophy after a Wildcat comeback fell short.

Before the teams battled on the field, pregame tailgaters battled the cold and rain outside. Game-time temperatures hovered below 50 degrees.

“We didn't bring this, all right. We left this. We didn't want this. So I don't want anybody to blame us for bringing it,” joked one Boise State fan.

“The last Fiesta Bowl (Boise played in), we were wearing shorts and we were playing tennis, and I want to know what's up with this,” said another.
