PHOENIX -- A Phoenix police officer has been arrested for allegedly drinking and driving.

Brian Godbehere was arrested Saturday night in Goodyear, suspected of driving under the influence.

According to the police report he was pulled over for failing to signal and essentially cutting off a Goodyear police officer in the process.

It happened at the intersection of Yuma Road and Sarival in Goodyear just before midnight.

Godbehere, 53 denied drinking repeatedly according to the police report, he also declined to do any field sobriety tests saying, "I'd rather not."

He was eventually given a breath test and the results, listed in the report show he registered a .130 and a few minutes later a .129, well above the legal limit.

The veteran Phoenix police officer was cited then released.

Godbehere was one of two officers investigated earlier this year by 3 On Your Side for smoking cigars and playing cards on top of a Valley parking garage while on duty.

Godbehere has been a Phoenix police officer for more than 27 years. According to Phoenix police Sgt. Trent Crump, he will be placed in a non-enforcement position pending the ongoing investigation.
