PHOENIX -- The coldest temperatures of the season are headed our way over the next couple of days as a strong jet stream direct from Canada pumps in some polar air.
As a result, Friday morning we’ll see some Valley locations in the mid-to-upper 30s and on Saturday morning, a few Valley locations will get down to the freezing mark. Rural areas around metro Phoenix are already under a freeze warning for Saturday morning.
And that unsettled weather pattern looks like it’s going to finish out the year. In fact, by Wednesday and Thursday of next week, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, there’s a decent chance to see some showers around the Valley and snow up in northern Arizona.
In the meantime, the rest of the holiday weekend will feature highs only in the 50s. That’s unseasonably cold for this time of year.
