PHOENIX (AP) -- A Sun City man has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for purchasing pornographic images of children over a three-year span.

Maricopa County prosecutors say 72-year-old Larry Jay Bennett also was sentenced Monday to lifetime probation.

He pleaded guilty last month to one count of sexual exploitation of a minor and two counts of attempt to commit sexual exploitation of a minor.

Prosecutors say Bennett had multiple pornographic images of children delivered to his home and work addresses.

They say most of the images appeared to be of children around ages 7 or 8.

The U.S. Postal Service helped lead the investigation against Bennett, who reportedly has been married for 50 years and works for his local church.
