By Brad Denny
PHOENIX -- A sunny and breezy day is forecast for the Valley with an afternoon high of 66 degrees.
High pressure off the west coast brings near normal temperatures today, with breezy to locally windy conditions across Arizona. Windy weather is expected today across the higher elevations of our state, in addition to the Colorado River Valley of western Arizona. Breezy conditions between 10 and 20 miles per hour are expected in the Valley today.
A more active storm pattern begins Thursday and brings some clouds for the Valley on Christmas, with a cool-down beginning Friday. Afternoon highs drop below normal to about 60 degrees Friday and last throughout the weekend. Overnight lows will drop to the 20s and 30s across the Valley.
A High Pollution Advisory has been issued for the Valley on Wednesday. People with sensitive respiratory systems, along with children and the elderly, may want to limit their time outside on Wednesday. It is also a No Burn Day in Maricopa County.
