Spring-like weather expected during first week of winter

PHOENIX -- The winter solstice is this Sunday at 4:03 p.m., but weather across the Valley is going to look and feel more like early spring.
High pressure building in from the west is expected to keep skies mostly clear this weekend through Christmas day next week. Temperatures are also forecast to gradually warm above average.
In the Phoenix-metro, look for overnight lows to dip into the 40s each night. This weekend, highs will be in the mid to upper 60s. By Monday or Tuesday, 70-degree temperatures will move into the Valley and return each afternoon through Christmas day.
By the end of the week, a strong and cold storm system is expected to drop daytime highs around the Valley back into the low and mid 60s.
