PHOENIX -- Police are searching for a man who stabbed another man several times in the course of an argument at a Phoenix restaurant early Friday morning.

It happened at about 2 a.m. at Los Armandos, a fast-food Mexican restaurant at 59th Avenue and McDowell Road.

When police arrived, they found a bleeding man near the restaurant's entrance.

According to witnesses, the victim and the suspect had been arguing for quite some time. That confrontation ended when the suspect pulled a knife and stabbed the victim several times.

The suspect then got into a car with several other people and left the scene.

The victim was taken to a local hospital. He is expected to recover.

It is not clear what sparked the initial argument.

Police have not released any information about the suspect or the vehicle in which he fled.
