Local restaurants team up with NFL to fight hungerPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- We're counting down to the Super Bowl, and the NFL is using this time to help beat hunger in the Valley.
49 restaurants are joining Taste of the NFL's Kick Hunger Challenge. 100 percent of the proceeds from certain menu items this month goes to support food banks in the NFL community, including St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance and Vista del Camino Food Bank.
On Wednesday's Good Morning America, Chef Marc Lupino Dominick's Steakhouse and Steak 44 of showed us how to make the Waygu Tomahawk Chop. When you order that dish, the restaurant will donate 10 meals to the food bank.
When you order select wines by the glass, that's equivalent to 2 meals donated to the food bank. When you order select wines by the bottle, that equals 3 meals to the food bank.
The wines include Maso-Canali Pinot Grigio, Louis Martini Cabernet Sauvignon, Ballard Lane Sauvignon and BlancWilliam Hill Chardonnay.
