By Jennifer Thomas
PHOENIX -- A mostly cloudy day in the Valley with a forecast high of 67 degrees is expected today before rain chances begin tonight and last several days.
A series of Pacific weather systems moves into our region tonight, bringing rain, snow and colder weather. There's a slight chance for Valley rain tonight and a good chance tomorrow. Rain chances continue tomorrow night and into Thursday, with rain totals of up to half an inch possible across the Valley. Valley highs drop from the upper 60s today to the low 60s the rest of this week, with overnight lows in the 30s and low 40s.
Snow is expected in the high country starting tonight or tomorrow morning and continuing through Thursday. Snow levels should come down to about 5,000 feet, with accumulation expected above 5,500 feet. Elevations between 6,000 and 8,000 feet, including Flagstaff, should see 3 to 6 inches of snow. Areas above 8,000 feet could see up to a foot of snow.
Colder air will follow the storm, with Valley highs only near 60 degrees on Thursday, and overnight lows dropping to the mid-30s to mid-40s by Thursday night.
