Woman dies after head-on crash in Phoenix

PHOENIX – A 56-year-old woman died in a head-on collision in Phoenix Sunday afternoon.

Brenda Foelster-Cabas drove her Honda sedan into the oncoming traffic lanes and collided with a Chrysler sedan near Chandler Boulevard and Desert Foothills Parkway at approximately 12:30 p.m., according to Officer James Holmes with the Phoenix Police Department.

Witnesses told police that they had seen the Honda swerving on the roadway and striking the median near 24th Street while westbound on Chandler Boulevard.

Both drivers were transported to a local hospital where Foelster-Cabas was pronounced dead.

The 29-year-old driver received injuries that were not life-threatening.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
