1 Person killed when car collides with semi-truck

PHOENIX -- One person was killed when a car crashed into the back of a semi-truck early Friday morning, according to Capt. Benjamin Santillan with the Phoenix Fire Dept.

It happened at approximately 4:50 a.m. at 43rd Avenue and Roosevelt Street.

A man, who was in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman was taken to a hospital in extremely critical condition.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
