TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- Interstate 10 eastbound has reopened at U.S. 60 in Tempe, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Eastbound lanes closed before 6 a.m. Friday because of a crash involving a fatality.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says a woman in her 20s who was a passenger in an eastbound car traveling at high speed was killed when it struck the concrete median wall and then collided with another car near Baseline Road.

DPS says four other people were injured and were taken to hospitals.

Westbound I-10 remained open.

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- Eastbound Interstate 10 is closed at the U.S. 60 interchange in Tempe because of a fatal accident during the Friday morning commute.

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises motorists to consider using the Loop 101 freeway as an alternate route.

No details are immediately available on the accident but about a dozen fire department units were dispatched to the scene.

PHOENIX — A crash has closed Interstate 10 eastbound at US 60 in Tempe, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
 
Drivers should expect delays approaching the area and consider alternate routes, including Loop 101 southbound through the Tempe and Chandler area. Once drivers reach Loop 202 Santan in Chandler, they can turn west on Loop 202 to return to I-10 eastbound.
 
There is no estimated time reopen I-10 eastbound. Westbound I-10 remains open.
