SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. -- A San Tan Valley school was placed on lockdown Thursday due to a nearby barricade situation, according to the Pinal County Sheriff's Office.

A man with a warrant for his arrest reportedly barricaded himself inside a home on Gold Lane, near Copper Basin Elementary. Authorities said the lockdown was a precaution.

The East Valley Task Force and Mesa Police Department's SWAT team responded.
