Maricopa County Attorney speaks on police shootings, indictments

PHOENIX -- The recent shooting death of Rumain Brisbon by Phoenix police officer Mark Rine has raised questions about and whether police are being held accountable.
Over the past four years, police have been involved in 145 shootings throughout the Valley, killing 75 suspects. Of those, 14 were unarmed.
During that time, Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery has not charged or indicted a single officer.
He spoke to 3TV to defend his actions.
"In each one of these cases, when you review them with the facts presented, the determinations we are making are based on the evidence we have," Montgomery said. "That's not a circumstance of us being spoonfed what law enforcement wants us to see."
