PHOENIX (AP) -- A Phoenix man accused of threatening to throw his young son out a window has pleaded guilty to one count of attempted aggravated assault.
Maricopa County prosecutors say 32-year-old Brenden Michael Fairbanks entered his plea Monday. His sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 13.
Police say Fairbanks was arrested after allegedly threatening his then 8-year-old son at an apartment complex on Dec. 3, 2013.
Court documents state Fairbanks was clothed in camouflage shorts and holding his son in his arms, pointing a 12- to 14-inch plastic pen at him.
Police say Fairbanks refused officers' orders to put the boy down and then broke the glass of the window with his son's feet as he tried to throw him out the window onto the glass some 3 feet below.
