It'll be Devils against Devils in the Sun Bowl.

No. 15 Arizona State, coming off a 9-3 regular season, will be headed to El Paso to play the Duke Blue Devils on Dec. 27, with kickoff at 12 p.m. MT (2 p.m. EST). It will be the first all-time meeting between the Sun Devils and Duke in football.

This was not the ideal destination for an ASU team that in mid-November was ranked No. 6 in the College Football Playoff rankings. However, a stunning loss to Oregon State and a season-ending defeat to Arizona has ASU El Paso bound.

A win over Duke would give ASU back to back 10-win seasons for the first time since 1972-1973.

The Blue Devils finished their season 9-3, with a 5-3 mark in ACC play. They opened the year 8-1 and reached No. 21 in the Top 25 before two straight losses. This will be Duke's third consecutive bowl appearance after having just from 1962 through 1995.

This will be ASU's fifth trip to the Sun Bowl. They played Catholic to a scoreless tie in 1940, and lost to Western Reserve 26-13 the next year. In modern time, ASU defeated Iowa 17-7 in 1997, and topped Purdue 27-23 in 2004.

Duke has not won a bowl game since the 1961 Cotton Bowl, having just four bowl appearances since then.
