PHOENIX (AP) -- Hundreds of people are expected to line central Phoenix streets Saturday night for the APS Electric Light Parade.

The utility is helping to sponsor the parade for the 28th consecutive year.

Dozens of parade entries are expected to interpret the theme of "Holidays in Toyland" using thousands of lights.

Mickey Mouse will serve as grand marshal.

The parade route begins at North Phoenix Baptist Church on Central Avenue at Montebello then heads south to Camelback Road. The procession then heads east to 7th Street, where it heads south to Indian School Road.

City officials are advising residents to use public transportation such as Light Rail and bring blankets or chairs to sit on.

The festivities start at 7 p.m.
