SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- The Westin Kierland Resort and Spa opened a SnoPro ski simulator for beginners to learn the techniques before hitting the slopes.

"We basically teach you how to ski or snowboard on this carpet so you can save yourself some time," Chelsea Allen, director of fun at the resort, said. "This is a great chance for you to warm up those muscles and get back in the groove."

SnoPro sessions are $25 per person for 30 minutes. Reservations are required.

"It really kinda helps you hone in on your skills and really perfect all of your moves," Allen said.

Those who participate in the sessions will also receive $20 off a one-day lift ticket at Arizona Snowbowl.

SnoPro sessions are open 5 to 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays from Nov. 28 to Dec. 20.

Boots, skis, and boards can also be provided.
