US 93 reopens in Wickenburg after fatal crashPosted: Updated:
WICKENBURG, Ariz. – U.S. 93 has fully reopened in Wickenburg following a crash that closed the highway before 6 a.m. Friday, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Southbound lanes reopened around 11:15 a.m., while northbound lanes reopened before 11 a.m.
A detour through Wickenburg on Tenger Street allowed drivers to get around the closure, which was about one mile north of the U.S. 60/U.S. 93 roundabout.
The Wickenburg Police Department responded to a rollover on U.S. 93 shortly after 5 a.m.
Chief Pete Wingert said the driver was trapped inside the vehicle and died at the scene. There were no other occupants.
The victim has been identified as Luis Angel Maldonado, 24, of Ash Fork.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
