PHOENIX -- A first-alarm fire at a Phoenix housing complex has displaced seven people, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

Capt. Aaron Ernsberger said firefighters arrived at scene on 22nd Street north of Baseline Road within about three minutes of being dispatched and encountered heavy fire and low visibility.

Crews searched the building and found no occupants inside. No injuries were reported.

Ernsberger said about 15 fire units responded.

He said it was not immediately clear where the fire originated because so much of the structure was involved.

The building did have a working smoke alarm.
