PHOENIX -- Clouds from the sub-tropics have been passing over Arizona for much of the day on Monday, resulting in lower temperatures. Now we wait on a slight chance for showers Tuesday night into Wednesday. If we get anything, it most likely will be pretty light. No major rains are expected.

Another day of warm and dry conditions will open the month of December across the southwest states. By Tuesday a large area of low pressure and deep tropical moisture plume will affect the western United States, bringing slightly cooler temperatures, increasing clouds and the chance of scattered showers across portions of southeast California and central Arizona. Unsettled weather may linger into portions of the late week and weekend as an active storm pattern expands into the west.

By the way, the November just completed in the Valley resulted in no rain. That’s the 15th time no rainfall has been reported in Phoenix since records started here in 1895, so I guess it’s not that unusual. Our average temperature made it the 13th warmest November on record.
