3 Killed in separate Phoenix crashes on Sunday

PHOENIX -- Three people were killed in three separate crashes on Sunday, according to police.

Bell Road & 7th Avenue | 8:30 a.m.

The first wreck occurred at 8:30 a.m. at Bell Road and 7th Avenue.

A motorcycle was traveling east on W. Bell Rd. through the intersection at N. 7th Avenue when a pickup truck, traveling west, made a left turn to go south on 7th Avenue.

The motorcycle and the truck collided.

The male driver of the motorcycle was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries and was later pronounced deceased. The victim was not wearing a helmet.

He has been identified as Michael Eugene Thomsen, 29.

Bell Road and 49th Avenue | 7:00 p.m.

A passenger car with two occupants was going east on Bell Road and made a left turn to go north.

The car was struck by a car going west on Bell Road.

A female passenger was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased. She has been identified as Sarah Denano, 71.

Union Hills Drive and 32nd Street | 7:30 p.m.

A motorcycle was going west on Union Hills Drive when a passenger car, traveling east, turned left to go north on 32nd Street in front of the motorcycle and the vehicles collided.

The motorcycle driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim was not wearing a helmet.

He has been identified as Jeffrey Alan Baker, 34.
