Fire tears through car restoration shop

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Firefighters spent the early morning hours battling a huge fire at The Auto Gallery, a company that specializes in vehicle restoration.

The call came in shortly after 3:30 a.m. Monday.

Firefighters reported explosions at the scene, which is just west of McClintock Drive, north of the Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway. Flames were visible from Loop 202.

Crews from Tempe, Scottsdale and Phoenix pulled out of the building and went defensive. The fire was contained to a single building.

Southbound McClintock Drive was closed between Curry Road and Loop 202.

No injuries have been reported.
