TEMPE, Ariz. -- One person was shot and killed Friday night in the parking lot of a CVS store in Tempe. It happened just before 7 p.m. at the store near University Drive and Mill Avenue.

Tempe police say 21-year-old Errun Scroggins, of Phoenix, was shot multiple times in his car, then managed to drive his car out into the street before stopping.

The man was rushed to the hospital in critical condition where he died a few hours later from the injuries.

The shooting apparently followed some type of argument.

Police are searching for two suspects described as black men in their 20s with medium builds, between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, wearing hoodies -- one dark, one light.

Police say this happened in a very busy area, and that there were many witnesses to the shooting. "Obviously it's an extremely scary situation, and there are a lot of them shook up over this," Lt. Mike Pooley said. "This is something you don't see."

Police shut down Mill Avenue at University as they investigated the crime.

Detectives are scrutinizing surveillance video from neighboring businesses to see if they can find any clues about what happened. They hope the images will help them track down the suspects.
