Phoenix weather: warm weekendPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- The ridge of high pressure which brought us record temperatures on Thanksgiving has begun to weaken and move off to the east. As a result, temperatures are moderating across the state.
Still, we’re going to finish out the weekend with highs temps in the upper-70s around metro Phoenix. No rain is in the forecast for anywhere around the state through Sunday.
There are some changes due next week but the timing of the next storm swirling out in the Pacific is unclear. At this point, it looks like we’ll see an increase in clouds on Tuesday and a 30 percent chance for scattered showers on Wednesday of next week. However, any rain we get still doesn’t look very significant. Same for the snow forecast; just not a lot of moisture to work with in the atmosphere right now.
Temps will trend down next week but remain pretty mild with highs around metro Phoenix in the low 70s.
