2 Buckeye students taken to hospital after drug overdose

BUCKEYE, Ariz. – Two elementary school students in Buckeye were transported to a local hospital after reportedly overdosing on drugs Wednesday morning.

The two children attend Jasinski Elementary School near Broadway and Miller roads.

A Buckeye School District official said the students took some nonprescription drugs and were suffering the effects of overdose. Officials would not elaborate on what drugs they took.

Officials did not release the students' ages. There is no information about their conditions.

No other students were involved and school officials believe it to be an isolated incident.

The school remained open and parents were informed.
