KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) -- Mohave County prosecutors are asking a court to decide whether to grant a news reporter's request for release of autopsy records and photos of an 8-year-old homicide victim.

The prosecutors' court filing Wednesday took no position on releasing the autopsy report for Isabella "Bella" Grogan-Cannella of Bullhead City, but opposed releasing photos of the girl's unclothed body.

The prosecutors said a reporter for the Las Vegas Review-Journal and two other media outlets requested the autopsy information.

The prosecutors say a court determination is appropriate under a 2009 Arizona court ruling that said decisions on release of autopsy records should weigh competing concerns of the public and the victim's family.

Justin James Rector awaits trial in the girl's death. He has pleaded not guilty to charges that include first-degree-murder.
