PHOENIX -- Phoenix Zoo celebrated Thanksgiving early by having a "Feast with the Beast", giving the animals a chance to eat their Thanksgiving meals in front of the public.
The squirrel monkeys, among other animals, were given a complete table setting and meal including salad, meal worms, seeds, fruits, and vegetables.
"Fortunately I had the whole day yesterday to get their dinner ready and the dinners for the gibbons and the lemurs ready too. We spent the day yesterday making their Thanksgiving dinner," Senior Primate Keeper Amy said.
The Zoo's javelina and fennec fox also received treats inside piñatas.
