GLENDALE, Ariz. -- A Glendale dad was arrested for allegedly putting his son in danger while trying to teach him about safety.David Stoneham, 33, was teaching his son how to cross the street Saturday morning when the boy was hit by a vehicle at Northern and 51st avenues, according to court documents.Stoneham reportedly stepped off the median and started crossing the road. He told his son to stay close. That's when a vehicle struck the boy.Police said the father and son were jaywalking and not near a crosswalk.The boy was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Court records show he suffered abrasions to his knee and elbow.Stoneham admitted that he had consumed a large amount of alcohol prior to the incident, according to the court documents. Stoneham faces one count of child abuse. He is being held on $50,000 bond.
