PHOENIX – 3TV viewers came through to help a group of special needs cheerleaders who were hoping to raise enough money to participate in a regional competition in California.

The Southeast Pop Warner Challenger Cheer team was on "Good Morning Arizona" a couple of weeks ago. The team had qualified for regionals but needed about $1,500 to attend the competition in Long Beach on Nov. 15.

One person donated more than $1,000 and the donations kept coming. By the time the donations stopped rolling in, the girls had $3,500 to get them to the competition and send their coaches, as well.

They all came home with a trophy and some very big smiles.

The girls competed in the exhibition round of the WESCON Regional Cheer Competition. All the Challenger teams in this round place first and receive a trophy.
