PEORIA, Ariz. -- Three people were displaced after the kitchen of their Peoria home caught fire Sunday.

Peoria Fire Battalion Chief Ron Singleton said when firefighters arrived at the home near 88th and Peoria avenues, the occupants had exited the home unharmed.

The flames spread to part of the attic but were quickly extinguished, Singleton said.

The fire department is assisting the occupants with a place to stay.

The cause is under investigation.
