GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Glendale police say a woman has died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a street Friday night.

Glendale resident Linnie Kirby, 66, was reportedly crossing Thunderbird Road from north to south near 52nd Avenue around 6:30 p.m. when she was struck by a westbound sedan. Police say she was outside of the crosswalk and hit in the curb lane.

Kirby was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police say impairment, speed and distracted driving do not appear to be factors in the crash.

The adult male driver is not being charged or cited at this time.
