PHOENIX – A man is in critical condition after he was stabbed at least seven times Friday morning.

Phoenix police said a man entered a convenience store near Indian School Road and 22nd Avenue at about 4:30 a.m. and attempted to purchase beer. He was denied due to the time of day and left.

About five minutes later, the man returned to the store with what appear to be stab wounds to his upper body.

The man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but is expected to survive.

Sgt. Jonathan Howard said the suspects are known to the victim but they have not been located.
