CHANDLER, Ariz. -- We all had childhood dreams, right? Maybe to be a movie star, or an actor, or a singer. Well, one young east Valley girl is making those dreams a reality.

Her name is EmbeR, and we discovered her at the "Chandler's Got Talent" competition. She's just 13 years old, but is already well on her way to a successful music career. "I've been singing my whole life," she tells us. "I got my first guitar when I was 11, and I started to go to open mics around local venues."

After meeting Taylor Swift at a concert in October 2011, EmbeR says she was inspired to start singing and playing guitar. She actually taught herself how to play off of the internet.

In early April 2012, she started hitting the music scene throughout the east Valley. She headlined in her first solo concert at the SoZo Coffeehouse on August 10, 2012.

She plays and sings various genre cover songs. EmbeR’s musical influences include Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Pink, and Kelly Clarkson.

She is also inspired by her brother. "My older brother also plays guitar and sings," she says. "He used to perform, too. So I looked up to him as a younger kid, and I still do."

EmbeR is just now beginning to explore writing her own songs. She performed her first original "I Still Have Time" at the 2013 Proof is in the Pudding competition.

Besides her love of music, EmbeR enjoys ice skating, long boarding, fashion, traveling and meeting new people. She has especially enjoyed competing with and meeting other musical artists
