UPDATE: Missing Peoria man located

PEORIA, Ariz. -- Celestino "Tino" Valencia, 30, who went missing over the weekend, was located in northwest Phoenix by deputies from the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, according to
Amanda Jacinto with the Peoria Police Dept.

He was safely returned to his home.


PEORIA, Ariz. -- Police in Peoria are asking for the public's help finding a man who disappeared late Saturday morning.

Celestino Valencia was last seen at about 11:30 a.m. when he left  his home near 89th Avenue and Union Hills Drive.

Police said Valencia, 30,  takes medication for mental illness and might not be able to care for himself.

"It is believed that Valencia may be trying to walk to Guadalupe where he has family," Peoria Police Department spokeswoman Amanda Jacinto said in an alert sent to media outlets. "He has wandered away from his home before and was found in medical distress due to dehydration."

Valencia, who goes by "Tino," is about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 190 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black and white checkered shirt, dark pants and a black hat.
