Man missing in Coconino County is found dead

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) -- A man missing for three days on a hike in northern Arizona has been found dead.

Coconino County Sheriff's officials say the body of 63-year-old Scott Olson was located by a search crew late Friday morning on the north west side of Humphries Peak.

They say Olson's body was located at an elevation greater than 10,000 feet downslope from a landmark known as Philomeno Spring.

Officials say the cause of death wasn't immediately clear, but there were no signs of foul play.

Olson was at his cabin in the Hart Prairie area and told his family and friends on Tuesday that he was going to a hike in the meadow with his dog.

Authorities say the dog named Faith was found near Olson and is alive and in good condition.
