GILBERT, Ariz. -- The 3-day Gilbert Days Rodeo began this Friday at Welcome Home Ranch.

Bert Davis, the Coppertown clown and dog trainer, will be there performing with the Muttley Crew -- ten dogs he has trained to perform tricks for the audience.

Davis has been doing it for 20 years.

"Every dog that we own has a story. How we got them, or how they became part of the crew. Over the past 20 years, my wife and I have saved over 25 different dogs," Davis said.

They are currently on their third set of dogs.

"We try to entertain people with dogs because everyone has a dog and our little saying is that 'You own a dog like one of ours, a family member has a dog like one of ours, there's a guy at the street that has a dog like one of ours' so everyone has their own favorite dog," Davis said.

There will also be plenty of other activities and vendors selling food, bling, and other items.

"The attitude is fun, energetic, it's all about faith, family, freedom. Get out there, this isn't a golf game. We love being loud and proud," Sammi Miles, 2014 Gilbert Days Rodeo Queen, said.

The gates open at 4 p.m. Friday and at noon Saturday and Sunday.

Friday Nov. 14 - Gilbert Rodeo Performance begins at 7 p.m. - "Pink Night"

Sunday Nov. 16 - Gilbert Rodeo Performance begins at 2 p.m. - "Family Performance"
